Overview

Silver Bay Seafoods, a leading seafood processor in Alaska is currently looking for an experienced bilingual receptionist to work in our Seattle office within our busy Human Resources department. The candidate would mainly be responsible for answering a busy multi lined HR phone, directing calls accordingly and often assisting the caller with application details.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Answer phones, greets, responds, and resolves questions;
  • Opens, sorts and distributes incoming mail;
  • Maintain and replenish office supplies and equipment;
  • Promptly respond to all office supply requests of other departments;
  • Multitask appropriately and demonstrate the ability the remain focused and concentrate on detail work;
  • Receives the public and answers questions in person;
  • Other duties as assigned;

Qualifications

Competencies:

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

 

Training/Skills:

Read, speak, write and understand English and Spanish for effective communication. Ability to demonstrate outstanding and consistent customer service skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

 

 

Mental Activities:

The employee is frequently required to use interpersonal and teamwork skills. The employee needs to be able to discern details on time-sheets and reconcile appropriate calculations. The employee needs to regularly demonstrate attention to detail. The employee is occasionally required to use creativity, independent judgment, discretion, and problem analysis.
