Overview

Assist Quality Manager in ensuring that proper documentation, inventory records, including Fleet QC issues and overall Quality is held to the Silver Bay Standards

Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the QA Manager the incumbent will

  • Maintain HACCP records
  • Inspect plant sanitation and cleanliness
  • Keep all licenses/certificates relevant and up to date
  • Ensure SOP’s are being followed by all personnel
  • Inspect processing facility after clean-up and recommend additional cleaning if necessary
  • Instruct employees in proper use of cleaning chemicals
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning chemicals
  • Program and issue data loggers to fishing vessels and tenders
  • Maintain hand-dip/foot-dip stations
  • Place and monitor traps in storage warehouse to deter rodents;
  • Prepare tender and seiner packs;
  • Distribute cleaning agents with instructions to F/V and tenders

Qualifications

  • Must be able to perform repetitive work, stand, bend, twist and constantly work with your hands and standing for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work very long hours (up to 12-18 hours a day, 6-7 days a week) in cold, wet and humid conditions.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and carry materials from one point to another.
  • Must be able to work well in close proximity with others.
  • Must work quickly in order to meet production deadlines and understand and follow instructions and safety rules
  • Maintain high level attention to detail
