    Silver Bay Seafoods, a well-established Alaska based seafood company has an opening for an experienced fabricator at our new state of the art processing facility in False Pass, AK in 2019. Our False Pass location will process salmon as well as white fish and will begin operations during the 2019 salmon season. If you are looking for a stimulating environment where you can help create something in a safe work environment, we'd like to hear from you. Silver Bay Seafoods will provide lodging and meals at no charge as well as round trip transportation to the site. The location is remote and the hours will be long. The incumbent can expect to work 12-16 hours a day and 6-7 days a week while at the facility. 

    Qualifications

    Qualified applicants will possess the following skills

    • Read blueprints & shop drawings
    • Layout and fabricate projects
    • Weld in all positions; flatwork, vertical, overhead
    • Competent with oxy/acetylene torches
    • Steel welding experience with 7018 and 6010
    • Familiar with all fabricating tools
    • Marine aluminum welding experience preferred
    • Minimum three years aluminum welding experience

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

    • 95% of the time are spent in plant premises where dust, debris, water, fish waste may be present;
    • Job requires ability to perform tasks on all areas and aspects of the plant. Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 75 lbs., and to bend, climb, crawl and stand.
