  • Overview

    Silver Bay Seafoods, L.L.C., a dynamic, fishermen-owned seafood processing company with operations in Alaska and California, seeks an individual with a background in recruiting and a passion for filling open positions with the right talent.  The individual must have a strong work ethic with a sense of urgency as well as a flair for marketing and advertising.  The individual will lead a team of recruiters and support staff, and report directly to the Chief Operations Officer with a dotted line reporting relationship to the General Counsel. 

    Responsibilities

    • Apply exceptional focus to create a seasonal hiring plan to recruit and hire qualified applicants and increase retention of past seasonal employees to meet the needs of the business. 
    • Conduct recruitment outreach to attract outside candidates through a multi-faceted marketing and advertising plan that includes social and print media, radio, etc.
    • Own and drive the development and implementation of recruiting events that will attract large numbers of students, experienced seasonal workers and other qualified workers.  This includes developing strategies and plans to increase the number of employee referrals. 
    • Develop and implement a plan to obtain H2B workers to fully address the seasonal labor needs.  This includes partnering with immigration counsel and foreign agents to maintain a successful program.  
    • Effectively lead, support, and empower a team of recruiters and support staff through the recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding process.
    • Seek continuous improvement of the recruiting, hiring and onboarding program. This includes an ongoing analysis of data/trends with a focus on continuous improvement of recruiting and retention.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws related to recruiting and hiring.
    • Work in partnership with the HR Department to address employee relations issues and interpret policies consistently and fairly.

    Qualifications

    • Self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, and capable of working under pressure.
    • First-class interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
    • Prior experience developing and leading marketing and advertising initiatives for qualified candidates.
    • Prior experience with H2B visa applicant process.
    • Thrive on data; comfortable developing and reporting out KPIs.
    • Prior experience as a Recruiting Manager, Recruitment Consultant or Recruiter.
    • Familiar with applicant tracking systems and HR/Payroll databases.
    • Working knowledge of employment law.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Organizational Psychology a plus. Relevant workplace experience may be a substitute for formal education.

    This is a full-time position in Seattle, WA with seasonal travel to Alaska and California, and periodic travel to attend job fairs in the United States and overseas.
