Silver Bay Seafoods is currently looking for a HR Manager for our Sitka, AK facility. This is a year round position in which you will work onsite in Sitka about 7 months a year.
The HR Manager will provide leadership and support in all functional areas of human resources including employment, employee records, employee relations, performance evaluations, employee development, training and special projects. As a key member of the plant management team provide sound advice and coaching to department managers on all HR related areas that impact the plant
Assist in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications and/or meetings. Prepare reports in conformance with legal and Company needs.
During off season, may have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule from home subject to the needs of the Company.
At least 2 years HR Manager experience required. Previous supervisory history desired but not required. Bachelor’s degree a plus. Relevant workplace experience may be a substitute for formal education.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Travel to facilities in Alaska will be required during processing seasons. While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
The employee is frequently required to set an example by consistently modeling high standards of honesty and integrity.
