We are looking for someone who has experience preferably within the maritime and/or fishing industry as well as experience with creating a store from scratch and running it.

Silver Bay Seafoods is currently looking for an experienced Line Mechanic to work in one of our seafood processing facilities in Alaska. The incumbent will maintain, repair and install Iron Butcher processing machinery and other fish processing equipment such as food grade conveyors (plastic and stainless), processing pumps (meat and water), grinders, and a variety of salmon, herring and crab processing equipment. The incumbent sets an example for the department staff in work ethic, safety adherence, and attitude. Silver Bay will provide transportation to and from the facility as well as housing and food while working at the facility.
Baker will be responsible for baking fresh loaves of bread, setting out the pastries and preparing fresh bread, pastries and other baked foods for the whole crew. The baker’s responsibility is to ensure the quality of the elements being used is up to date and maintains record of when supplies are running low to be able to replenish stocks in timely manner.
The Shipping Supervisor oversees the operation of the Shipping department while ensuring the staff follows GMP and safety policies to produce a high-quality, frozen salmon product. The incumbent works closely with the Production Manager, AML drivers and the Case-up Department to ensure a smooth, consistent, quick-paced transition of product from Case-Up to its designated van. Additionally, the Shipping Supervisor is responsible for a thorough documentation of all product loaded into containers, tracking of containers incoming and outgoing, as well as Quality Control documentation.
The Bunk House Manager monitors Silver Bay's property and premises to ensure security of products and processing materials, and to maintain order at the SBS bunkhouse. The bunkhouse manager will play a large role in making everyone’s stay there pleasant and safe.
The Inventory/PM Administrator position fulfills the dual responsibilities of Inventory/PM Administrator. The incumbent is responsible for tracking inventory throughout the facility, administrating the PM program, local expediting and other various duties.

Silver Bay Seafoods is looking for a skilled Administrative Assistant to work in our fast paced office in our new False Pass, AK plant. The main responsibility of the Administrative Assistant is to assist others in the office to ensure that the office runs smoothly.
The Dock Boss provides an integral service to fishing vessels as they come to off-load at the Silver Bay Seafoods dock. They coordinate with Fleet, Plant and Production Managers, as well as fishing vessels to organize and schedule efficient offloads. The Dock Boss typically runs a crew of 2-8 Dock Leads with a Dock Supervisor as an assistant.
Silver Bay Seafoods is looking for an Electrician for our Sitka, AK facility.
The incumbent performs highly-skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas in the facility including heating, refrigeration, motors, fire alarms, electrical panels, electrical control room, and fish processing equipment. Work involves technical application of electrical principles. Responsible for electrical maintenance of plant power issues, distribution, cords, plugs, motors, compressors, etc.
Silver Bay Seafoods is currently looking for a HR Manager for our Sitka, AK facility. This is a year round position in which you will work onsite in Sitka about 7 months a year.
The HR Manager will provide leadership and support in all functional areas of human resources including employment, employee records, employee relations, performance evaluations, employee development, training and special projects. As a key member of the plant management team provide sound advice and coaching to department managers on all HR related areas that impact the plant
Assist in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications and/or meetings. Prepare reports in conformance with legal and Company needs.
During off season, may have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule from home subject to the needs of the Company.
Silver Bay Seafoods is opening a new state of the art processing facility in False Pass, AK in 2019. Our False Pass location will process salmon as well as white fish and will begin operations during the 2019 salmon season. We are currently looking for an experienced QC Manager that will work to develop the facility and assist in making it the shining star of Silver Bay Seafoods.
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for communicating to all employees of the facility the standards and policies required by Silver Bay Seafoods and their customers, as well as state and federal regulations. Where the standards and policies are not adequately communicated, product may have quality defects or critical food safety defects.
Silver Bay Seafoods is currently looking for a Fleet Accountant for our Naknek, AK facility. The Fleet Accountant will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Maintain fisherman accounts, including receivable and payables, issue Purchase orders as needed, reconcile fisherman credit cards.
- Prepare all payments to fishermen, including advances and settlements.
- Supervise fish ticket entry personnel, audit all weight records, fish tickets, and tender tallies.
- Have knowledge of Catch Manager II fish ticket, fisherman accounting and general GL system.
- Ensure all copies of fish tickets are submitted as required to appropriate Alaska Department of Fish and Game office.
- Have knowledge of ELandings system.
- Maintain fisherman fish ticket and expense files at the plant.
- Generate requested reports from the fish ticket system.
- Applicant must have good organizational skills, be accurate and timely in all processes.
- Must be flexible and adjust quickly to changes while working in a fast paced, demanding environment.
- Work closely with other Fleet personnel, plant personnel and fishermen to ensure accuracy of accounting and fish tickets.
This is a seasonal position. You will be required to work at one of our processing facilities in Alaska. This is an entry level position.
Silver Bay Seafoods (SBS) is currently looking for experienced Technical Support to work in one of our Alaska based seafood processing facilities. The Technical Support position is responsible for plant tech support in coordination with corporate IT Staff. The employee will work directly with the facilities staff and senior level administrators to resolve problems and provide support.
Airfare from Seattle to the plant is provided as well as your return ticket. Also provided is housing and food while on location. The season typically lasts roughly 3-4 months during the summer.
This position is for all returning key staff for the 2019 season.
