The incumbent will maintain, repair and install Iron Butcher processing machinery and other fish processing equipment such as food grade conveyors (plastic and stainless), processing pumps (meat and water), grinders, and a variety of salmon, herring and crab processing equipment. The incumbent sets an example for the department staff in work ethic, safety adherence, and attitude.
Silver Bay Seafoods is currently looking for an experienced Production Lead to work at one of our processing facilities in Alaska. This position is seasonal and be expect to work 12-16 hours a day, 7 days a week. Room and board are provided as well as travel to and from the facility from Seattle.
Baader Assistant helps the Baader Technician with rebuilding, repairing, assembly and maintaining Baader 427 fish filleting machine, Baader fish trimming and Baader scaling machine and/or Baader fish skinning machines, and/or Baader fish mincing machines fish skinning machine.
Baader 427 Tech rebuilds, repairs, assembles and maintains Baader 427 fish filleting machine, Baader fish trimming and scaling machine and/or Baader fish skinning machine.
Operates and maintains a variety of fleet equipment such as gas, diesel and propane powered rolling stock including trucks, forklifts, cranes, and passenger vehicles.
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for communicating to all employees of the facility the standards and policies required by Silver Bay Seafoods and their customers, as well as state and federal regulations. Where the standards and policies are not adequately communicated, product may have quality defects or critical food safety defects.
Assist Quality Manager in ensuring that proper documentation, inventory records, including Fleet QC issues and overall Quality is held to the Silver Bay Standards
Provides support to the production department by assisting the Production Manager with production operations and relieving him at night or other odd hours.
The Bunkhouse Manager monitors Silver Bay property and premises to ensure security of products and processing materials, and to maintain order at the SBS bunkhouse. The bunkhouse manager will play a large role in making everyone’s stay there pleasant and safe.
Silver Bay Seafoods is currently looking for a Shipping Supervisor to work in one of our processing plants in Alaska this summer.
This position reports directly to Production Manager.
Travel to and from the facility provided from Seattle as well as housing and meals while on site.
The Chef will plan, direct, participate and supervise food service activities at the Sitka plant. This involves preparation and delivery of four daily meals for SBS employees. Meals are served buffet style. The incumbent will plan and develop recipes taking into account food budget requirements while maintaining overall food quality & consistency.
The plant operates 24 hours/day 7 days a week during the processing season. This position requires being activity involved in food preparation while directing the activities of a prep cook and kitchen helpers. The Chef will oversee overall kitchen organization, sanitation and safety. The Kitchen Manager sets an example for the department staff in work ethic, safety protocol, and attitude.
Silver Bay Seafoods is currently looking for an experienced Carpenter to work at one of our processing facilities in Alaska.
Room and board as well as food provided while working at the facility. Travel to and from the facility from Seattle also provided.
The incumbent performs highly-skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas in the facility including heating, refrigeration, motors, fire alarms, electrical panels, electrical control room, and fish processing equipment. Work involves technical application of electrical principles. Responsible for electrical maintenance of plant power issues, distribution, cords, plugs, motors, compressors, etc.
The Plant Safety Coordinator will be responsible for managing the plant’s safety program, overseeing the safety of all plant personnel, promoting safe work methods and compliance with safety regulations in remote or semi-remote locations at salmon processing plants in Alaska. The PSC will provide first aid treatment and respond to medical issues and emergencies. The PSC will coordinate and supervise all safety related activities for the plant’s production, construction, maintenance, and repair activities. The PSC will maintain all safety related records in a timely and accurate manner to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. The position will report directly to the Plant Manager. Corporate support will be provided by the Director of Safety.
Silver Bay Seafoods is currently looking for an experienced Refrigeration Operator to work at one of our facilities in Alaska. The incumbent will operate and maintain a large single stage Ammonia system in accordance with SOP’s and PSM program and all mandated safety guidelines. Incumbent will perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on both low temp and RSW systems and multiple systems of NH3.
The incumbent will assess plant wide maintenance needs and recommend changes, plan and schedule preventative maintenance as well as manage and instruct department heads and employees in multiple departments in maintenance procedures and techniques. This position entails managing personnel in maintaining multiple systems of NH3 (anhydrous ammonia), R22(HCFC), R404A(HFC), R507(HFC), R134A(HFC) and other refrigerants as encountered in our facility and on fishing vessels.
